The Rings of Power: Torching Tolkien's Legacy
I must confess that I had little hope that Amazon™ knew what they were doing. Early stills from the series were not encouraging. I wondered why Galadriel was wearing a suit of armor given that at no point in any of the three ages of middle earth she never once fought in any of the wars...never once held a sword. But Amazon was having none of that. They would have their action-figure for the 2022 Christmas season and nothing was going to stand in the way of naked capitalism. Morfydd Clark (yes, that's really her name) is an excellent actress but here is given so little to work with I was reminded of Liam Neeson on The Phantom Menace. Clark's version of Galadriel is a weird blend of Lara Croft, Rey Skywalker and Joan of Arc. Too much of her screentime is spent being either stoic or snarky. The show wants us to believe that what we have here is a 'young' Galadriel who is both driven and at times impulsive, but apparently the writers of this atrocity had no idea that since it is taking
